A study to test whether d4T is effective for people with HIV-associated dementia, taking place at the Kobler Centre

A comparison of d4T/3TC/nelfinavir versus AZT/3TC/nelfinavir for previously untreated people with CD4 counts above 100 and viral load above 2000, taking place at clinics in Birmingham, Bristol, Brighton, Cardiff, Edinburgh and Manchester, and St George’s, St Mary’s, St Thomas’ and the Kobler Centre in London

A trial at the Kobler Centre of highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART) combined with IL-2 (a drug that boosts the CD4 count) and/or the Remune vaccine (composed of a non-infectious form of HIV) to try to stimulate the immune system’s anti-HIV responses. Participants must have a CD4 count of at least 300 and measurable viral load at baseline.
