The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have

Studies reported at the 12th World AIDS Conference in Geneva

Glossary

combination therapy

A therapy composed of several drugs available either as separate tablets, or as fixed-dose combination (FDC).

suggested a link between antiretroviral combinations and premature births and

birth defects, a finding not supported by other research. The CDC recommend that

women receiving combination therapy whilst pregnant should continue, with

"careful, regular monitoring of their pregnancies and for potential

toxicities".
