Matthew Hodson has decided to stand down as Executive Director of aidsmap. This marks the end of a significant era for the organisation and the HIV community. Matthew has been a formidable leader, heading aidsmap with dedication and a profound commitment to advocacy, education, and support for people living with HIV. Under his leadership, aidsmap has strengthened its position as a vital resource, providing accurate, accessible, and comprehensive information about HIV and AIDS.
Matthew’s tenure has been characterised by a relentless focus on combatting stigma and misinformation, fostering a greater understanding of HIV prevention and treatment, and advocating for the rights and dignity of those affected by the virus. His ability to navigate the complexities of public health communication and his passion for social justice have left an indelible mark on the organisation.
As he steps down, Matthew leaves behind a legacy of progress and hope, having significantly advanced aidsmap's mission. Helen Moulinos continues as Interim Executive Director and the Trustees at aidsmap will be shortly starting an open recruitment process for Matthew’s successor.
