Organisations working with African refugees and HIV are being invited to apply for grants from the Embrace Community Fund.
The GlaxoSmithKline-sponsored Embrace Community Fund has a total of £25,000 available from which to make grants to African and refugee organisations. The Embrace Community Fund is part of the Embrace African Health Promotion Programme, which aims to “empower African people in the UK to take a proactive approach to sexual health and HIV testing.”
Awards from the fund will recognise and support projects designed to raise awareness of HIV, testing for HIV, and access to HIV support services by African communities.
Last year awards totalling £25,000 were made to five organisations working with HIV and African people, including the Black Health Agency, the Gloucestershire AIDS Trust and Gay Men Fighting AIDS.
