NAM has won two awards in this year’s British Medical Association’s Patient Information Awards.

Resistance, one of NAM’s celebrated information series for positive people booklets was highly commended in the 2002 Patient Information Leaflet Award.

www.aidsmap.com, NAM’s website that is visited nearly a million times a year, was highly commended in the 2002 Patient Information Leaflet Award (website). No other websites were commended in the runner-up categories, and the first prize was won by the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

NAM's Senior Editor Keith Alcorn said:

"NAM's approach is geared to giving people all the information they need to make their own treatments choices in consultation with their doctors. Rather than tell people what to do we think it's important to set out clearly and honestly the latest evidence on the benefits and risks of treatment."

NAM has won BMA Patient Information Awards in 1999 and in 2000.
